We only made a quick overnight stop in Martinique, but we loved the anchorage so much I thought I'd better make a blog post about it. We had planned to overnight in St. Pierre, but had such a great sail coming from Dominica and were making good time so we went a bit further and popped into the tiny anchorage called Anse Noire. We were the only boat there and it was dead flat - can you believe it?! There were many locals swimming and enjoying the beach, but by sundown it cleared out and made for a nice, quiet evening. We got a much needed sleep and were sad to head out early in the morning, but wanted to get going to make our way further South and get closer to the ever enticing Tobago Cays.
Martinique is really beautiful! It was a lovely sight to take in along the way. So green and mountainous.
And as always, you start the day with a nice, calm sail and it turns ugly! The rain came in and the seas picked up and up and up...
